A level load refers to the very top of the roll off dumpster having an imaginary lid that you cannot fill beyond that point. Think about your normal trash can you set out on the curb each week. It has a lid that must close to prevent the trash from blowing around, right? Well roll off dumpsters don't typically come with lids, but we are required by law to tarp the dumpster before transporting.
The most important reason is without a doubt, safety. Imagine how scary it would be if you were driving down the road and garbage was falling out of the vehicle in front of you. Additionally, the way our hook lift system operates the dumpster gets pulled up on the truck at an angle. If you recall from basic science classes, how gravity affects items that are not secure. This could cause damage to our equipment and to your driveway.
Generally no, when you rent a roll off dumpster you must abide by the level load. If you have an item that is securely in the dumpster, but a part of it is sticking out; please ask yourself if we will be able to tarp this and safely transport to the landfill. If the answer is yes, then we probably will be willing to take it. When in doubt, please send our Dumpster Consultant or Dumpster Delivery Expert a message so we can consult on a solution.
Our dumpsters are designed to help you maximize space and to be strategic so you can fit it all INSIDE the dumpster. We recommend loading in the big items first by using the double french style doors, then adding the smaller stuff around those items. This will ensure that you can get rid of those big items! Our dumpster bins also have flat bottoms, so you can use ALL of the space in the dumpster. How are you good at Tetris?
